How it Works
After some 20 years experience of designing and deploying computerised retail systems, Coland Systems have developed Imperium. Using cutting edge technologies this is truly a future proof product. Coland Systems have spent 12 months developing the engine alone that serves to move the data between users, so that its fast and secure. Central to the system is the concept of 'cloud computing'. The idea is that the database is held centrally (this could be literally anywhere, although we would advise that you utilise our in house database servers). The clients - Epos terminals, laptpos, PC's, E-Commerce customers (and eventually even mobile devices) access the central database to get the information required, based of course on their requirement, or 'role'. However, the technology doesn't stop there. Coland Systems have developed the system using a coding language called Dot Net - a Microsoft product that has become the coding standard for many developers. In line with this we have used an extremely clever tool to convert our code to be represented as web pages. The fact that the system has been developed around a centralised database and uses your favourite internet browser has two major benefits: 1. Real Time Operation - If stock is received in site A, the stock inferences of this transaction are immediately represented throughout the whole of your business - IMMEDIATELY. Site C will be able to see that this stock is available, as well as your web site customers having immediate access to purchase it. Back Office users of the system will also be aware of its existence at the point it is receipted. 2. Access From Anywhere - Your Imperium Back Office system is accessible from anywhere that has internet access. So if you are away from the office, just hook up the laptop - log in and you have up to the minute access to all your information.
